Innovation Depot unveils its LARGEST Voltage cohort EVER

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 23, 2024) – Innovation Depot is proud to launch the eighth iteration of Voltage, welcoming twenty-six entrepreneurs—the program’s largest cohort to date. Voltage, an idea stage program launched in 2021, continues to attract a growing number of tech innovators eager to bring their ideas to life.

Tailored to accommodate the busy schedules of its diverse participants, Voltage offers a five-week journey that provides flexibility and crucial resources. Participants can test and refine their tech ideas with the help of leading industry tools and insights, all outside the typical 9-to-5 workday.

This year’s kickoff marked a milestone with the highest number of applications ever received, reflecting Voltage’s expanding impact and recognition in the tech community.

Ritchie Kruunenberg, Director of Marketing & Operations, elaborated on the importance of the program’s growth: “Seeing our cohort size hit a record high isn’t just a number—it’s a sign that more individuals are stepping up to explore their potential as tech innovators. At Innovation Depot, we work with founders every day to shape the future of technology. Yet, there’s something uniquely fulfilling about engaging with those who aren’t founders yet but have amazing ideas and the drive to make them happen. This record-breaking cohort means we are reaching more of these aspiring entrepreneurs, increasing the odds of new, successful startups emerging from our support.”

Brooke Gillis, CEO of Innovation Depot, also highlighted the program’s track record and its expanding visibility: “Seeing our largest cohort ever is incredibly exciting and showcases the broadening awareness and success of Voltage. Many of our past participants have progressed from Voltage to full-time accelerators and now operate their startups from out of the Depot. This growth is a powerful testament to the vital role Voltage plays in the tech ecosystem.”

Experienced mentors from AppThink, powered by HVL, continue to guide participants, ensuring that they make well-informed decisions to advance their ideas effectively. We kicked off the eight cohort on Saturday, April 20th. Each entrepreneur is passionately developing innovative solutions across a diverse range of fields—from health tech to fintech, sports tech, and beyond:
